Programmatic Identifier List Tab

This tab displays a list of all registered programmatic identifiers on your system. Programmatic identifiers are the text string, often containing two words separated by a period, which you pass as a parameter to the WIL ObjectCreate function.

Enter a partial Programmatic Identifier to search the list

Text entered in this box is used as the search criterion when searching the list of programmatic identifiers. The box's drop-down list can hold up to your last ten search criteria.

Next

Press this button to start a search using the search criterion in the text box. Each successive button press searches for the next instance of the search text in the left-hand column of the programmatic identifier list. The WIL Type Viewer will display a message when no more instances of the search text can be found.

Previous

When two or more instances of a search criterion have been found, you can press this button to return to a previously found instance in the programmatic identifier column. A message is displayed when no previous instances of the criterion exist.

Programmatic Identifier/Class Name List

This list contains the list of all programmatic identifiers and their class names that are registered on your system. The left column contains the identifiers and the right column contains the class name.

You can double click on a left-hand column identifier to load the object's type information and switch to the Viewer Tab.

View Object Members

Use this button to load a programmatic identifier list selection's type information and switch to the Viewer Tab. The Viewer Tab initially displays the type information for the object but you can get type information for the entire associated library by pressing the Get Library button on the Viewer Tab. Many registered programmatic identifiers are not actually intended for use with third party scripting languages or are linked to files that are no longer installed on a system. If you attempt to view orphaned or private programmatic identifiers, the WIL Type Browser will display an error message.
